Growing up in Detroit Michigan enamored with Hollywood’s best cinema in the 1970s, a hometown theater (The Shores Madrid, aka The Shores) left in indelible mark on poet Michael P Naughton, who later became a successful musician and songwriter, currently in the group ’92 in the Shade. This book blends and infuses cinema and songs in his first poetry collection The Shores of Madrid.
The truth is, Madrid has no shores, but for a brief moment in time, poet Michael P. Naughton got caught in the waves of cinematic history.
Michael P. Naughton also published four books of poetry by the late actor Michael Madsen over eight years (2005–2013): The Complete Poetic Works of Michael Madsen, Vol. I: 1995–2005 (2005), Signs of Life (2006), American Badass (2009), and finally Expecting Rain (2013) with a Foreword by the late Jerry Hopkins (No One Here Gets Out Alive).
